Lovecraft’s “At the Mountains of Madness.” Del Toro has James Cameron’s support as a producer, the possibility of Tom Cruise as a star, and genius to burn. But he can’t get a green light on the project, because Lovecraft’s Cthulhu isn’t as branded and pre-sold, apparently, as Captain America or Thor or the Green Lantern — or Stretch Armstrong, for that matter...
